Hey, all! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know we did! Hudson and I had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with Jenny Edmunds Photography on Saturday morning in Gastown; a national historical site and very popular tourist area of Vancouver. I was so excited when Jenny contacted me about this mini-project. She had a vision of street style, with the goal of capturing the joys and adventures of a toddler on-the-go, and she did just that. I am so obsessed with how the photos turned out.
Jenny is a Vancouver-based, self-taught photographer whose work mainly focuses on portraiture and fashion. The aesthetics of her photographs are style driven, while exhibiting the spirit of adventure and exploration.
Jenny recently returned from a three month journey traveling throughout Europe. This experience has broadened her eye for "beauty," finding new inspiration in nature, as well as children.
According to Jenny, shooting Saturday was a great experience for many reasons. The opportunity to meet Hudson and having a toddler as a subject for her first time are at the top of that list. She used the term "challenging" very loosely, explaining that at no time was she ever frustrated, however not being able to direct poses, facial expression, or give instructions to Hudson, forced her to capture the moments as they were, rather than creating them.
We both agree entirely that Hudson was running the show on Saturday. Having said that, he did do an amazing job being himself, having fun with his surroundings, and overall, being adorable! What a ham!
If you're looking for someone to photograph yourself or little one, I highly recommend Jenny. She is so easy going and friendly, yet works incredibly hard to capture amazing memories to last a lifetime.
