4 Time and Money Saving Tricks for Back to School Shopping
/Back to school can be a stressful time for families. Your kids need new school supplies, new clothes, and new shoes. I completely understand how this can all be so overwhelming. Let me simply break down the clothing portion for you in just 5 steps. Take a deep breath and read on…
1. Have a game plan. Decide on what your go-to stores will be. If you have multiple kids of different genders, it is a HUGE time-saver to stick to larger stores with a big selection of clothing for both boys and girls.
2. Avoid busy lines and inconvenience by shopping online. Most stores will carry more selection and inventory in their online stores. Shop from the comfort of your own home and excitedly await the packages to arrive at your doorstep! SMALL BUSINESSES are perfect for this. Not to mention the clothing will be unique and rare.
3. Know what you’re shopping for. If you have a few spare minutes, look online to get some ideas of what you are potentially shopping for. I find that if I don’t do this, I go to the store and purchase WAY more than I need. Think about what your child(ren) will need new clothing for: school, activities, sports, outside play, etc. Quickly jot down a list of items that are pertinent to these various realms of life.
4. Don’t get distracted. Stray clear of all temptations and really focus on the necessities. Remember, if you stick to basics (solid colours, limited prints and logos, etc.), you can easily mix and match items to create a fuller wardrobe for your littles.
Fall and winter clothing will, unfortunately, not be on sale when you’re shopping at this time in the year. If you are keen on planning for next year’s back to school season, shop at the end of this winter to find amazing deals and clearance items. You will save SO much money.
Your kids thank me later,
Clarissa
